Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Non-Contentious Construction Solicitor to join a leading Top 50 national law firm. The firm is renowned for its expertise across various sectors and offers a collaborative environment where talent is nurtured and professional development is a priority.


Role and Responsibilities

As a Non-Contentious Construction Solicitor, you will be involved in a broad range of high-quality construction matters. You will work alongside senior lawyers and industry experts, advising clients on construction contracts, procurement, and project structuring. Your role will involve:

  • Drafting and negotiating a wide variety of construction-related contracts (including building contracts, consultants' appointments, subcontracts, and supply chain agreements).
  • Advising clients on construction procurement strategies and risk management.
  • Providing guidance on regulatory issues related to construction projects.
  • Collaborating with clients, contractors, and project teams to resolve contractual issues, ensuring smooth project delivery.
  • Assisting clients on all aspects of the lifecycle of construction projects, from inception through to completion and post-completion.


Key Requirements

  • 5+ years' post-qualification experience (PQE) in Non-Contentious Construction Law, with a strong focus on construction contracts and project advisory work.
  • Proven experience in advising clients on major construction and engineering projects across sectors such as infrastructure, energy, and commercial real estate.
  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Sound understanding of the construction industry, including relevant legislation and industry standards.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • A proactive and solution-focused approach to problem-solving.


Desirable Skills

  • Experience in advising on international construction projects is advantageous but not essential.
  • Experience within the Energy sector is desirable but not essential.
