Key Responsibilities
- Risk Assessment: Evaluate and underwrite casualty risks in accordance with syndicate guidelines and market conditions.
- Portfolio Management: Develop and manage a profitable portfolio of casualty business, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- Client Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, clients, and other stakeholders to facilitate business growth.
- Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to identify new opportunities and stay ahead of industry trends.
- Underwriting Authority: Exercise sound judgment and authority in underwriting decisions, maintaining a balance between growth and risk management.
- Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including claims, actuarial, and compliance, to ensure seamless operations and superior service delivery.
Qualifications
- Experience: casualty underwriting essential, with a proven track record of success in new business role
- Knowledge: In-depth understanding of casualty insurance products, market dynamics, and regulatory requirements.
- Skills: Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills. Ability to make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Education: Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., ACII) are highly desirable.
