Marine Cargo Underwriting Leader
Job description
Looking for your opportunity to become the lead Cargo Underwriter / Practice Leader for a growing insurance outfit?
Maybe you're currently playing second fiddle to your head of cargo, but doing equal/greater amounts of work and not being recognised fairly?
Interested in an equity stake which you'll profit from as you build out your cargo practice?
Joining as the Cargo Lead, you will be representing a rapidly expanding, specialty Marine MGA, owned by some very credible individuals who boast a solid pedigree in the international retail broking space, meaning gaining capacity to write cargo business shouldn't be too tricky.
The DNA of the business is very much in the H&M, Loss of Hire, War and Marine Builders Risk world and due to strong growth in 2023/24 coupled with some recent cargo enquiries, the owners feel it's an opportunistic time to provide someone with this opportunity
Salary / package will be market level, but would be weighed up against a possible equity stake in the book. This would give you ownership and an incentive to grow your team and portfolio.
We are looking to engage with individuals who have a strong network, not just with international wholesale brokers but are able to work with retail brokers and are comfortable in leading from the front when it comes to securing new business opportunities
