Claims Handler

Job description

The broker sector is a popular area of insurance for many claims professionals.

And when you start to think about it, you can see why.

In broker claims, you get to work directly with SME and corporate level clients, understanding their businesses and often meeting with them on a face-to-face level.

And the variety of claims handled means you'll have exposure to multiple types of claims including everything from liability and property to motor and professional indemnity cases.

Huge investment in broking is driving loads of growth and opportunity with the Scottish regional market currently being one of the most exciting sectors in the UK right now.

So, the career options in broking claims are excellent with many handles moving into management and executive work.

This established insurance brokerage in Stirling can offer you your break into the broking market.

Ideally, you'll have 12 months or more experience in claims from either a broker, insurer, claims management or legal background.

Here you'll work from home 3 days per week with 2 days in the office collaborating with colleagues, sharing ideas, working with clients and dual management of complex cases.

Your day to day will involve:

  • Managing a caseload of commercial insurance claims across property and liability
  • Further management of some commercial motor cases
  • Handling new instructions from executives and direct from clients
  • Management of the full claims process including stakeholder liaison
  • Negotiations of settlements
  • Client meetings as and when required
  • Providing MI analysis for presenting to clients at renewal meetings
  • Reporting to senior management
  • Subsidised study for CII exams
  • Working to your own individual career development plan

Salary here is up to £35,000 plus benefits package.

So, if you are in claims and fancy building a great career in the broking sector then this will be ideally suited for you.
