Contentious Probate Partner

Job description

Excellent opening to suit an experienced contentious probate lawyer with this highly regarded Midlands firm.

Our client has an exceptional reputation for private client work and is keen to invest in its private client litigation offering with the appointment of a Head of Contentious Probate.

There is a superb platform at this firm for an experienced contentious probate lawyer to advise on a broad range of matters including all types of inheritance disputes including applications contesting the validity of wills, applications to remove Executors, claims for reasonable financial provision under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975 and the rectification of Wills and breach of trust claims as well as contentious Court of Protection applications. In addition, your role will involve helping to raise the profile of the department and supervising a small number of juniors. There is real appetite to build a market leading team.

With ideally a minimum of 6 years PQE (although applications are welcomed from lawyers with more or less experience than this) you'll be acting on behalf of an established client base of private individuals and their families, landowners / landed estates and rural sector clients, as well as entrepreneurs, business people and other wealthy individuals. You may be a senior lawyer looking for a partnership opportunity or an existing partner looking for the autonomy and agility to shape your own team and practice.

The firm can offer an excellent range of work, clear opportunities within the team to progress and a friendly, flexible and team orientated culture.
