We are working with a a well-established, award-winning law firm with offices in Northampton, Kettering, Wellingborough, and Milton Keynes, who are currently seeking a Newly Qualified- 5 PQE Employment Solicitor to join their growing Employment team in Northampton.
Role Overview:
As an Employment Solicitor, you will play an integral role in advising both employers and employees on a broad range of employment law matters. You will gain exposure to a diverse client base, from small businesses to large corporations, as well as individuals navigating personal employment issues.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and ambitious individual to continue their development in a supportive and collegiate environment, working alongside experienced professionals in a highly regarded team.
Key Responsibilities:
Advise and represent clients on a variety of employment law matters, including but not limited to:
- Disciplinary and grievance procedures
- Employment contracts and policies
- Redundancy and restructuring
- Employment tribunal claims (including unfair dismissal, discrimination, and whistleblowing)
- TUPE (Transfer of Undertakings Protection of Employment) matters
- Settlement agreements
- Employment law compliance and advisory work
- Conduct legal research and keep up to date with developments in employment law
- Prepare legal documents and draft contracts, policies, and tribunal claims
- Handle client relationships with professionalism, ensuring clear and effective communication at all times
- Support senior members of the team in complex matters, providing assistance with client management and legal advice
- Contribute to business development initiatives, including networking, marketing, and maintaining client relationships
About You:
The firm are looking for an NQ+ Employment Solicitor who is passionate about employment law and eager to build their career in this field. You should possess a strong academic background, relevant training, and a proactive approach to your work.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
- Qualified Solicitor (or soon to qualify) with a valid practicing certificate
- Experience gained during a seat in Employment law (either during a training contract or post-qualification)
- Strong understanding of employment law principles, procedures, and tribunal processes
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly to clients
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail
- A team player with a proactive, client-focused attitude
Desirable Skills:
- Previous experience in advising both employers and employees
- A keen interest in handling employment disputes and tribunal work
- Familiarity with HR-related legal technology or case management software
