Senior Associate - Technical Claims (Housing Disrepair)
Job description
A top-tier national law firm is seeking an experienced Senior Associate to join their highly regarded Legal 500-recognised Housing Litigation team.
This is an exceptional opportunity to work alongside some of the industry's leading experts in housing litigation, supporting a portfolio of major social housing clients. The team is thriving and continues to grow, offering a platform for ambitious lawyers to help shape the practice, contribute to strategic development, and make a meaningful impact in the sector.
Key Responsibilities
Managing a complex caseload of housing litigation matters, including:
- Housing disrepair claims
- Statutory nuisance
- Anti-social behaviour and injunction proceedings
- Possession matters
- Housing-related personal injury claims
- Supervising and mentoring junior team members, providing technical oversight and supporting their development.
- Leading on disclosure, witness statements, pleadings, expert instructions, and trial preparation.
- Acting as a key contact for clients, providing strategic and commercial advice tailored to their sector and needs.
- Supporting client relationship development, business development initiatives, and knowledge-sharing through article writing and event participation.
- Ensuring accurate financial and case management in line with firm standards.
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified solicitor (England & Wales) with substantial post-qualification experience in housing litigation.
- Strong working knowledge of civil litigation procedures and experience managing files from pre-action through to trial.
- Demonstrated experience supervising junior lawyers or paralegals, with a commitment to mentoring and knowledge sharing.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a confident and client-focused approach.
- Strong organisational and case management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure.
