Senior Claims Broker
Job description
We are working on a retained basis with our client, a well-established independent Lloyds Broker who are looking to bolster their claims team with a Senior Claims Broker.
The main purpose of the role is to provide an efficient, high quality and reliable claims service, including technical, broking, and administrative for all aspects of the business with the main focus being UK Corporate Sector.
What you will be doing;
- Liaise with clients and provide appropriate advice on claim procedures.
- Liaise with Underwriters, Insurers, Loss Adjusters, Solicitors and colleagues on claims.
- Attend meetings with clients, Underwriters, Loss Adjusters and colleagues as required, ensuring that accurate meeting notes are kept (if required).
- Broking of claims to Underwriters within the UK Market and including crossover with Lloyd's, LIRMA, ILU and company markets.
- Recognise circumstances that require referral to appropriate authorities (staff, Underwriters, etc.).
- Create claims records on the company database, diary claims to request updates ad keep financial records up to date.
- Record and analyse claims data spreadsheets.
- Prepare and send email correspondence/instructions to relevant parties.
- Dealing with incoming and outgoing telephone calls, ensuring that all information is accurately and adequately recorded.
- Refer any complaint received to the Compliance Officer in order that the complaint may be dealt with in accordance with the Company Complaints Procedure and FSA guidelines.
- Ensure that all claim payments are dealt with in a timely manner to clients and service providers.
- Ensure that the company's systems and procedures are always followed in accordance with the current procedures and/or compliance manuals; conduct checks and audits of claim files maintain records of complaints and repudiations.
The successful applicant;
- Strong market / industry knowledge and have dealt with Property, Liability, Financial Lines and Motor Claims
- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements
- Good understanding of technical aspects of claims handling and policy wordings
- Be a technical referral point
- Enjoy providing a first-class service to your clients
- Ability to interpret information accurately
- Ability to be able to present information to Underwriters and represent the client
