Senior Associate - Employment

Overview:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Associate with a strong background in employment law to join a leading law firm's Employment team in Bristol. This firm is known for its collaborative culture, cutting-edge legal work, and dedication to professional development. You will work on a wide variety of high-profile cases while supporting the team in delivering exceptional service to clients.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert advice on a range of complex employment law matters, including but not limited to, discrimination, unfair dismissal, restructuring, TUPE, and executive-level disputes.
  • Lead on high-value, high-stakes litigation and advisory matters, including tribunal and court proceedings.
  • Manage and mentor junior associates and trainees, providing guidance, supervision, and training.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, including key stakeholders, and contribute to business development activities.
  • Stay ahead of legal trends, ensuring that the team's approach remains innovative and aligned with changes in legislation.
  • Support the development of internal knowledge resources and contribute to the firm's thought leadership in employment law.
  • Work collaboratively across different practice areas to provide holistic solutions to clients.


Key Requirements:

  • 7+ years PQE in employment law, with a proven track record of handling complex and high-value matters.
  • Strong experience in both contentious and non-contentious employment law, including a robust understanding of tribunal procedures and employment legislation.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex legal issues clearly to clients and colleagues.
  • Strong leadership skills, with experience in mentoring and developing junior team members.
  • A proactive and client-focused approach to legal practice, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to build relationships with clients and contribute to the firm's business development efforts.
  • A commitment to professional development and continuing education within the field of employment law.


Desirable:

  • Experience in handling cross-border employment law matters or multi-jurisdictional issues.
  • A strong client following or a demonstrable ability to attract new business.
